How do I modify my Motion Functions?

First, make sure you know how to select Motion Functions and understand what they do. We recommend giving light shows with Speed, Tilt and Flux on their default motion settings before modifying them. That way you can get a feel for how they react to your movements and you can start to observe the ways you would want to optimize that reaction.

How to Modify Speed Function on the App

Speed Function will make the light change between Sequence 1 and 2 based on how fast you are moving. This works by changing from Sequence 1 to Sequence 2 as you speed up, and reverting from Sequence 2 back to Sequence 1 as you slow down. The app offers the ability to customize both of these speed thresholds.

  1. Go to Modes and select any mode to modify.
  2. Tap "Motion Settings."
  3. Select the "Speed" Tab.
  4. Look for the options L, M, H, C.

L (Low) - This is the lowest resistance (or most sensitive) pre-made Speed setting. Selecting this means that even the smallest movements and stops and will trigger the sequences to change.

M (Medium) - This is average resistance. An average glover's amount of movement and stopping will trigger the sequences to change.

H (High) - This is the highest resistance (or least sensitive) setting. Selecting this means you must move very fast or stop very hard to trigger the sequences to change.

C (Custom) - Select this to customize your own Speed thresholds. Simply drag the two dots up and down to your liking. The higher dot (1) adjusts how fast you have to move to go from Sequence 1 to Sequence 2. The lower dot (2) adjusts how slow you need to be moving to revert from Sequence 2 back to Sequence 1.

How to Modify Speed Function on the Spectra Glove Light

If you don't have access to your phone and you would like to modify Speed Function, you can use the Spectra Glove Light to select Low (L), Medium (M), and High (H) resistances, but not Custom (C).

  1. Click to turn the Spectra ON and click to the mode you want to modify.
Note: You must already have Speed Function selected for this mode.
  2. Hold until the light flashes LIME GREEN.
  3. Click through the 3 levels of lime green: Solid, fast blink, slow blink.
    • Solid: High (H) resistance
    • Fast Blink: Medium (M) resistance
    • Slow Blink: Low (L) resistance
  4. Click and hold for half a second to select your preferred resistance.

How to Modify Tilt Function on the App

Tilt Function will make the light change between Sequence 1 and 2 based on whether the light is facing up or down. Sequence 1 will display when it faces up, and Sequence 2 displays when it faces down. The app offers the ability to customize the exact angle at which the sequences will trigger to switch.

  1. Go to Modes and select any mode to modify.
  2. Tap "Motion Settings."
  3. Select the "Tilt" Tab.
  4. Look for the options L, M, H, C.

L (Low) - This is the lowest resistance (or most sensitive) pre-made Tilt setting. Selecting this means that the light will easily switch as soon as the LED bulb crosses a nearly horizontal plane (roughly parallel to the ground).

M (Medium) - This is average resistance. Selecting this means the light will switch to the other sequence at around a 45 degree angle.

H (High) - This is the highest resistance (or least sensitive) setting. Selecting this means you must move your hand all the way to a nearly vertical position (roughly parallel to the wall) to make the sequences switch.

C (Custom) - Select this to customize your own Tilt thresholds. Drag the "Up" slider to adjust the angle you must reach to change sequences in the upward direction. The higher the number, the more vertical the angle. Drag the "Down" slider to adjust the angle you must reach to change sequences in the downward direction.

How to Modify Tilt Function on the Spectra Glove Light

If you don't have access to your phone and you would like to modify Tilt Function, you can use the Spectra Glove Light to select Low (L), Medium (M), and High (H) resistances, but not Custom (C).

  1. Click to turn the Spectra ON and click to the mode you want to modify.
Note: You must already have Tilt Function selected for this mode.
  2. Hold until the light flashes LIME GREEN.
  3. Click through the 3 levels of lime green: Solid, fast blink, slow blink.
    • Solid: High (H) resistance
    • Fast Blink: Medium (M) resistance
    • Slow Blink: Low (L) resistance
  4. Click and hold for half a second to select your preferred resistance.

How to Modify Flux Motion on the App

Flux Motion is unique from the other motion settings in that it does not use Sequence 2 at all. It only uses the first 3 colors from the Sequence 1 Color Set. When you hold the light still, you will see the 1st color. When you move at an average speed, you will see the light blend into the 2nd color. When you speed up from there, it blends into the 3rd color. The app allows you to adjust how fast you must move to get between these colors.

  1. Go to Modes and select any mode to modify.
  2. Tap "Motion Settings."
  3. Select the "Flux" Tab.
  4. Look for the options L, M, H, C.

L (Low) - This is the lowest resistance (or most sensitive) pre-made Speed setting. Selecting this means that relatively little movement is required to get from the 1st to the 3rd color.

M (Medium) - This is average resistance. An average glover's amount of movement will get you from the 1st to the 3rd color.

H (High) - This is the highest resistance (or least sensitive) setting. Selecting this means you must move very fast to get from the 1st color to the 3rd color.

C (Custom) - Select this to customize your own Flux thresholds. Simply drag the two dots up and down to your liking. The lower dot (1) adjusts how fast you have to move to go from the first color to the second color. The higher dot (2) adjusts how fast you need move to get from the 2nd color to the 3rd.
